We postponed this week’s edition of the six safety stories in order to bring you the final installment of our Halloween safety tips series. Never fear, though – Matt will be back again next week with his wrap up- same safety time, same safety channel. So to speak.

Since Halloween is at the end of October, there’s a very good chance there will be snow and a100% chance that it’s going to be cold. This gives us all the more reason to make sure to dress appropriately for the weather when going out.

Now you may be asking, “Chris, how can I be weather prepared and still have a sweet costume like Matt?”

Matt really regrets going as a cabana boy this year

Well, I’ll tell you how:

1. Wear layers under your costume. Not only will it keep you warm, but it will also make you look super buff.

2. If you don’t want to go for the “I work out” look, just wear a jacket over top of your costume and pretend that it’s part of your ensemble.

Or

3. Do like Matt and wear long johns underneath your costume.

All joking aside, make sure to stay warm. If you know you’re going to be outside for extended periods of time, be prepared. The last thing you want is to get frostbite on Halloween. Although it may give you the zombified look you were looking for, it’s not a look you want to be sporting every day.

Lastly, if you are wearing a costume to work, make sure it is safe for the kind of work you do – big, awkward contraptions are probably not a good idea.

Have a safe and happy Halloween and make sure to check back in on Monday for a very special treat.

Until then, make sure to keep your head up and trust your gut.
